Friday's fav Christmas Paper Ornament Tutorial

This Christmas ornament, a so called German Bell, is an old favorite of mine. Fold it using gold or crisp white paper, and then add some bling, and it will add elegance to any Christmas tree. Check out the full tutorial over at allthingspaper.com

Scandinavian Living: Relaxed, Natural Elegance

Let me show you a few of the most popular pins from last week.
It's a very Scandinavian living room that is ticking all the right boxes:
very white and very natural, with generous trows and sheepskins
plus the odd twig, antler and skull...

Hanne and Søren Berzant's  turn-of-the-century apartment near Copenhagen
really sums up Scandinavian style - classic and modern in a relaxed mix.

The living room coffee table and the armchair (above), are by Hans Wegner,
the rug and printed cushions are from By Nord,
and the white standing lamp is from Artemide.

 Beautiful whitewashed floorboards.

The dining room table by SUP Design
with Arne Jacobsen’s Grand Prix chairs.
The smoky vase is from By Nord
and the birch pendant by Cathrine Kullberg.

The Maskros pendant in the work space is from Ikea PS

Chiaroscuro

Rainy days here in Sweden are really dark, and it will get even darker.
In the rain, things have fuzzy edges.
I am drawn to whatever light there is...

DIY: give your old armchair a new life

Love clever ideas that aim at reducing our environmental footprints.
Just look at Swedish designer Helena Hörstedt's old IKEA armchair -
transformed into a dramatic, unique chair! Great!

Höst - Autumn in Copenhagen

Beautiful images from the new Danish restaurant called Höst (Autumn).
Very Wabi Sabi!

It's Norm Architects who is responsible for the interior design of Höst. This is how they describe their philosophy behind this workNorm – in close cooperation with Danish designhouse Menu – has created an organic environment in an urban setting. Guests enter into a warm and inviting space and are met with the unmistakable sense of Scandinavian cosiness, while everything is also a bit weathered. Materials that age gracefully are in focus – recycled wood that has washed up on the west coast, granite in uneven pieces, concrete with clear structures and deviations, old cast iron and dented zinc. All of this is offset by a warm trickling light, soft wool rugs and lambskin.

I found these images via Emma Fexéus
who also did the styling for these photos. Beautiful!
